Community Development Working Group Collects Great Feedback from Members

The first meeting of the Community Development Working Group, held virtually on October 6, was a perfect display of collaboration. With a total of 30 participants, residents, Board members, staff, and Fluvanna County Officials contributed expertise and feedback. The next meeting is scheduled for October 13 at 6 PM.

Described by our GM Steve Hurwitz as a “productive forum for discussion and information exchange”, the meeting gave LMOA Members the opportunity to voice concerns surrounding residential and commercial developments in the immediate area of Lake Monticello. By consolidating member viewpoints, the Board can effectively and accurately represent our community on this matter.

The goal is to complete the project by the next Board meeting on October 23, which according to the GM is likely to occur. “The level of well-prepared statements and offer of expertise was impressive. I expect this project to be successful,” he shared.

We encourage LMOA members to email questions, suggestions, or concerns to this working group at cdwg@lmoa.org.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 13 from 6 – 7 PM and will again be held virtually.

  1. Will there be a synopsis published as to discussion and results of first meeting and going forward all meetings? Thank you – good idea – hope it doesn’t turn into a screaming match as others have.
